14.1.11
Just get there. That's the feeling walking down the street and the temperature is well below freezing and the wind bites through your clothing where you feel as if you might as well be naked. Your shoulders are tensed shrinking your neck into your body and that's the position you assume while outside. You begin to look around and realize the other faces you pass on the street all begin to look alike. Removed, stoic, determined, just to get there. It is as if the cold transports the soul to a different place. Frozen in time. For it is the give and take of the seasons. It is what makes the other ones of the year that much more special. So the cold in a way is special. A time to turn in. A time of rebirth for the warmer times ahead when the soul and spirit may flourish in sync with the other inhabitants of earth; animals, trees, plants. So in the meantime, we just try to get there.
